This big hearted - little school is based on the banks of lil Rock Creek, on the Salmon Creek & Big River-N'chiwana Watershed, on the traditional homelands of the Stl’pulmsh (Cowlitz), in the reach of Lawetlat'la / lawilátɬa (The Cowlitz name for the volcano, meaning “person from whom smoke comes”), now known as Mt. St. Helen's. Blessed to be in the heart center of the Cascadia Bio-Region, cross the Big River, 45mins due NE of PDX - the City of Roses.

This offering is a confluence of streams of thought, wonder, observation & reflection. We look to Watershed as a guiding force principal of planetarycreation as Earth Mother, Gaia, Pachamama, Na'ah Illahee, Unči Maka, Papatūānuku, Papahānaumoku, Hahanaru Shizen, Màthair Talamh… Where natural earth systems reveal the micro-macro fractal nature of reality, where science, spirit, and traditional ecologic knowledge systems have merit – with gratitude, reverence, tending, and care guiding the heart, focus, attention and intention of inquiry. With acknowledgment of complex and disturbing histories that accompany the colonial forces that have shaped perception and the present outcome of society on our living planet at this time.
Bringing earth based meditation practices, as simple as grounding and listening, to the frontal experience in beautiful, natural settings, including creekside meditations (tea-music-deep listening) on private and protected land.
We'll enjoy watershed journeys to local waterfalls and special river spots, celebrating the fluvial places of beauty, the land of Salmon return & the glory of forests shaped and fed by sea based nutrients carried inland by the red blood cells of the earth in the form of running, returning salmon and steelhead.
Presencing our awareness to the greater scale of being, in this momentary glimpse of NOW in the geologic moment. In observation and witness of biologic and ecologic destruction via practices of resource extraction. Helping understand, hold, and protect complex natural systems of intact forests and watersheds, learning to hold the best outcome response to ecologic and cultural restoration.
